Scope
This data privacy policy provides users with information on the type of data that is collected and used by the provider, the extent to which it is collected and used, and the purposes for which it is collected and used.
Collection of general information
Each time you access our website, we (and/or our webspace provider) automatically collect information from you. This information is also known as server log files. It is of a general nature and does not allow us to identify you personally. The storage time of the server log files is 4 weeks.
The data that is collected includes:
- Name of website
- File
- Date
- Data quantity
- Web browser and web browser version
- Operating system
- The domain name of your Internet provider, known as the referrer URL (the page from which you accessed our website)
- IP adress
Without this data, we would not be able to give you access to certain content on our website. For this reason, it is essential for us to collect this data. In addition, we use anonymous information for statistical purposes, as this helps us to optimise our website and the technology we use for it. We also reserve the right to inspect log files at a later point if we have reason to believe that our website has been used for unlawful purposes.
Integration of services and content from third parties
Our website incorporates content and services from third parties. These include maps provided by Google Maps, videos from Vimeo, as well as graphics and images from other websites. To enable this data to be retrieved and displayed in the user’s browser, the user’s IP address needs to be transmitted. This means that providers (referred to as “third-party providers” in the information below) are able to make use of the user’s IP address.
We make every effort to ensure we only use third-party providers that require IP addresses for the sole purpose of providing content. However, we have no control over whether IP addresses are stored. This may be done for statistical purposes, for example. If we become aware that IP addresses are being stored, we will inform our users of this.
Cookies
This website uses what are known as cookies. These are text files that the server stores on your computer. They contain information about your browser, IP address, operating system and Internet connection. We do not pass this data on to third parties, nor do we link it to personal data without your consent.
Cookies are used for two main purposes. They help us to make it easier for you to navigate our website, and they enable us to ensure that you are able to view our website in the correct format. They are not used to introduce viruses or launch programs.
Users may visit our website without accepting cookies. This requires them to make certain settings in their browser. If you would like to know how to disable cookies, please consult the help function in your browser. If you do choose to disable cookies, please note that this may have a negative effect on certain functions of this website, and may make it less user-friendly. The websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (USA) and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ (Europe) allow you to manage cookies for online adverts.
Handling personal data
eder GmbH will only collect, use and pass on your personal data if doing so is permitted by law or if you have consented to this.
Personal data refers to any information that makes it possible to identify you as a person and can be traced back to you – your name, e-mail address or telephone number, for instance.
Handling contact data
If you contact us through any of the contact details we have provided, your details will be stored so that we can refer back to them when we are processing and responding to your enquiry. We will not pass this data on to third parties without your consent.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (referred to as “Google” in the information below). Google Analytics uses what are known as cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer and make it possible to analyse how you use our website. The information that a cookie generates about your use of the website is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and then stored there. Since our webpages use IP anonymisation, however, Google will shorten your IP address within member states of the European Union or in other countries that are parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Your full IP address will only be transmitted to a Google server in the USA in exceptional cases, and it will be shortened when it reaches the server.
Working on behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate the way in which you use the website, compile reports on website activities, and provide the website operator with additional services relating to website and Internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of the Google Analytics services will not be combined with other data from Google. You can make certain settings to prevent your browser software from storing cookies. If you do choose to do this, however, please note that you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent.
Additionally, you can prevent Google from collecting and processing the data (including your IP address) that is generated by cookies and relates to your use of the website. To do this, download the browser add-on from the link below and install it: Browser add-on for disabling Google Analytics.
You can find more information about terms of service and data privacy at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html and https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/.

The YouTube servers will also receive information about which of our pages you have visited.
If you are logged into your YouTube account, this will enable YouTube to link your surfing activity directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. Data economy
In line with the principles of data reduction and data economy, we will only store data for as long as is necessary or for as long as is specified in the relevant legislation (the legal retention period). We will block or erase data once the purpose for which it has been collected no longer applies or once the retention period ends.
Your rights to access, rectification, blocking, erasure and objection
You have the right to request, at no charge, access to personal data that we have stored and/or request rectification, blocking or erasure. Exceptions apply if data storage is necessary for the purpose of conducting business, or if the data is subject to legal retention obligations.
In these cases, please contact our data privacy officer (whose details can be found at the end of this data privacy policy).
In order for us to remain aware that certain data has been blocked, it is necessary for us to retain the data in a blocked data file that we are able to consult. If no legal archiving obligations apply, you may also request erasure of the data. Otherwise, we will block the data if you request this.
Changes to our data privacy policy
In order to ensure that our data privacy policy consistently complies with the latest legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes to it at any time. This applies even if the data privacy policy needs to be amended due to new or revised services, for example. The new data privacy policy will then come into effect the next time you visit our website.
